Can’t seem to understand how some people think about Flash is fucked or Flash is a cpu eating plugin. The whole discussion is far more difficult then the simple choose between Flash or HTML5. Flash isn’t supported on the iPhone due to the strategy of Apple, because they don’t want to let people build applications they can’t control. If Flash is allowed on the iPhone there’s no need to get in line for the appstore.. Apple wants to control their developers, and since I am one I am not willing to sacrifice my freedom in just a split second of choosing to use HTML5 or Flash..
And there are countless reasons to throw up on the matter whether a closed system is good for a development framework. One to mention is the progress in technology. A closed system is speeding up the research & development of a framework/system and releasing new versions. So if we all stick to HTML5 soon, we end up with a open standard that will not see progress fast enough. In this time of rapid changes we all need to adjust fast, and I don’t see how open standards can keep up with that..
And then there is the thing called Apple. I can think of what their vision is on the future. My thoughts: they want to expand the whole app store and bring that to a higher level so there’s no need to use the browser anymore. That vision is slightly different from that of Google. My thoughts on them: they want to expand their services and also want to create a environment where 3rd party apps can be host, but they will use the browser as the main portal.
Other companies like Microsoft would also try to achieve something like that.
But that said, I can’t seem to judge Adobe on the fact that Flash is a closed system. And in my opinion we, all developers, end up making applications within closed systems, because all users of the Internet let companies like Google, Apple and Microsoft grow. The big companies wants to be bigger, so the Internet needs to be controlled by them to ensure they can become bigger…

A friend of my noticed me on the fact that Google is busy taking over a complete different market. The energy market, which is become to be a more and more unstable due to insufficient fossil fuels available. This becomes a very dangerous situation in my opinion, because of the fact that the whole world is dependent on energy and internet. Google wants to be the one AND NOT AT ALL IMPORTANT the only one in these two big markets… And who knows what they want to do next…?!

We, all users of google or their products, have to think about this and decide if we want to let them do their ‘jobs’

I heard on the radio about this idiotic plan, but it is seriously going to happen. A cycle path with a length of around 30 kilometres which will be mist-cooled and powered by solar cells. Completely shaded, so you won’t have to be afraid of getting burned by the sun.

Our planets climate is changing rapidly, whether we as human beings are the cause of that or not. This will not help at all if Qatar has already planned to place one and now Dubai is interested…

The only fancy thing about this news is that two Dutch companies are involved, how surprising .

Want a ride over there with your new bike? Book a trip to Dubai within a few years, and fly around the world in a few hours with the space shuttle. If you go, just do it all!
